Accurately determine the benefits obtained by pump condition monitoring

    1. Work out the electricity costs for pumping

    2. Identify the high cost pump stations that will benefit from fixed monitoring systems

    3. Work out present greenhouse gas emissions

    4. Work out present maintenance costs

    • Repair and refurbishment costs

    • Staff and overheads

    5. Estimate probable annual overall savings

    • 10 to 15% of electricity costs for pumping

    • 50% of maintenance costs

    • Compare savings over typically 5 years with cost of P22 pump monitors

    6. Implementation

    • Purchase P22P portable unit. Test 50 to 100 representative pumps.

    • Purchase P22F fixed system with pump scheduling software for a high power pump station with typically 8 pumps. Test for 6 -12 months.

    • Extrapolate savings to all pumps and take appropriate action, e.g.

    · Fit fixed systems to all high power pumping stations

    · Regular performance testing of lower power pumps
